FAQs

  • Don’t worry – we’re growing rapidly and post new jobs frequently. If you’d love to work with us, but can’t find your dream job right now we recommend that you follow us on LinkedIn and switch on your ‘job alerts’ to stay up to date on new job openings.

  • We’re an inclusive employer and this extends to how we hire. We strive to be inclusive at every stage of the hiring process, from the language we use in our job descriptions to the way we conduct our interviews. We know that we need talent from all walks of life to be successful, and base our hiring decisions on competence, science-based assessments, in-depth conversations and team fit.

  • Once you’ve applied you will get an email confirming your application has been received. We review all applications - should your application be successful in this screening process you can expect to hear from our Talent Acquisition team to arrange for an initial screening call or interview. If your application won’t be considered, you will be notified via email.

Please note that timing may vary significantly due to high volumes of applications. Our recruiters are working hard to respond to you as quickly as possible, but it might take longer than you’d wish.

  • While each role and level are different, our hiring process has four main components:

    1. AlvaLabs Assessment.

This assessment consists of a personality and preference questionnaire along a logical reasoning test, and applies to all candidates looking to join us. This step may take place at different times in our process and we use this information to ensure we hire and build diverse teams that complement each other.

    2. Conversations and interviews with our Talent Acquisition team.

Here you will have the opportunity to learn more about the role and our organization’s exciting journey ahead. We’ll also cover off important aspects regarding your background, skills, motivations and expectations – you can expect behavioral based questions and an open dialogue.

    3. Interviews with hiring managers, peers and stakeholders.

We’re building an organization from scratch, and to us hiring is an all-in team effort. Should you progress to interview stages, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and discuss the role and your fit with a range of decision makers and stakeholders. Whilst we appreciate this can be a time-consuming process, we believe it is critical to ensure the future success for you and our growing teams. If you’ve applied for an engineering role you can also expect a technical interview with a subject matter expert.

    4. Other assessments.

Our business is one of many specializations, often with high demands on technical expertise and the ability to perform complex tasks. As such some deeply technical roles (such as in R&D and Engineering) and for senior roles (such as Directors and Department Heads) might involve other assessments such as business cases, panel interviews or deeper technical assessments. Should you be invited to partake in any of these, you’ll know that we’re taking your candidacy seriously and will be given ample notice to prepare accordingly.

  • This will depend on the role, but generally our process takes 4-8 weeks from the initial conversation with your recruiter through to a decision on the outcome. (And we hope for you it’s a big YES).

Our Talent Acquisition team will keep you updated along the way to ensure you know what to expect and if there are any changes in the timeline.

  • We know how valuable feedback is during the job search, and whilst we’d like to offer as much guidance as possible, application volumes mean it’s not always possible for us to do so.

If you have progressed through to interviewing with a Hiring Manager, but haven’t been selected for the role, we will provide you detailed feedback. Sometimes this might not be satisfactory to you, and we welcome you to seek clarification from your Talent Acquisition Specialist.

  • In short, yes. Sometimes it’s just the matter of timing – we’re growing rapidly and will need thousands of skilled people across a broad range of roles. We also need to ensure that we can support our employees in being successful right here and now – this often means that your skills are highly desirable to us, but that our project is not yet in the right phase.

Be patient, continue to keep an eye out for open roles and apply for select opportunities to make sure to give your application the best chance for success.
